Round Table Discussion – Awareness Session
As part of the NSU Cybersecurity Center Inauguration Ceremony, the Round Table Discussion – Awareness Session brought together distinguished representatives from academia, industry, government, law enforcement, and development organizations to discuss the future of Bangladesh’s cybersecurity ecosystem. The session served as a platform for exchanging ideas, strengthening partnerships, and identifying collaborative approaches to address emerging cybersecurity challenges.
The discussion focused on building stronger collaboration between academia, industry, and government, with particular emphasis on the NSU Cybersecurity Center’s mission to enhance national cyber resilience and support the training of 300 MSMEs through cybersecurity awareness and capacity-building initiatives. Panelists highlighted the growing need for cyber hygiene, digital literacy, and practical cybersecurity education across both the public and private sectors.
Experts explored a wide range of topics, including cybersecurity challenges faced by MSMEs, AI-powered fraud detection, digital payment security, digital forensics, cloud and quantum computing, defensive applications of artificial intelligence, and the importance of public–private collaboration. Representatives from organizations such as SME Foundation, Visa, CID, UNDP, JICA, The Asia Foundation, Bangladesh Bank, and the National Cyber Security Agency shared their perspectives on strengthening cybersecurity awareness, research, and national preparedness.
The session also identified several opportunities for future collaboration, including cybersecurity training for MSMEs, university–industry partnerships, joint research in digital forensics, knowledge sharing, and the development of formal frameworks for cooperation between government agencies, academia, and the private sector. The discussion concluded with a shared commitment to advancing cybersecurity awareness and fostering a safer, more resilient digital Bangladesh under the vision of SaferBangladesh.
