North South University Cybersecurity Center (NSUCSC) - MSME Digital Hygiene and Cybersecurity Awareness Training Program: Cohort 1
On July 3, 2026, NSUCSC hosted the first cohort of its MSME Digital Hygiene and Cybersecurity Awareness Training Program at NAC 412, North South University. 26 participants took part in a full day of learning, from a baseline pre-test and sessions on digital hygiene practices to hands-on lab exercises covering device security, 2FA, and identifying threats like phishing and mobile banking scams such as bKash OTP fraud.
The program was graced by Prof. Dr. Shazzad Hosain (Dean, School of Engineering & Physical Sciences - SEPS, North South University (SEPS) & Project Director, NSUCSC), AKM Iqtidar Newaz and Zarjina Tarana Khalil (Executive Directors, NSUCSC), Moumita Ferdoushi Shorony (Cohort Management Officer, NSUCSC) and Dr Monika Akbar (Associate Professor, University of Texas at El Paso), who shared valuable insights on applied cybersecurity education and community-based clinic models.
The event was managed by Event Team Lead Zahid Hossain Khan (Zade), with on-ground support and volunteering by NSU FLEN.
Supported by the APAC Cybersecurity Fund of The Asia Foundation, with support from Google.org, this initiative aims to reach at least 300 digitally vulnerable MSMEs and organisations across Bangladesh.
