On July 17, 2026, the North South University Cybersecurity Center (NSUCSC) successfully conducted the MSME Digital Hygiene and Cybersecurity Awareness Training Program: Cohort 2 at the SEPS Conference Room, North South University.
The full-day training brought together 22 participants from various organizations and MSMEs to strengthen their understanding of digital hygiene and cybersecurity best practices. The program began with a baseline pre-test to assess participants’ existing knowledge, followed by a series of interactive sessions focused on building practical cybersecurity awareness.
Participants explored essential topics including password security, device protection, two-factor authentication (2FA), phishing attacks, social engineering, safe internet practices, and mobile banking frauds such as bKash OTP scams. The training also featured hands-on laboratory exercises, allowing attendees to apply cybersecurity concepts in realistic scenarios and strengthen their ability to identify and respond to common digital threats.
The event was graced by Prof. Dr. Shazzad Hosain, Dean of the School of Engineering & Physical Sciences (SEPS), North South University, and Project Director of NSUCSC, along with AKM Iqtidar Newaz and Zarjina Tarana Khalil, Executive Directors of NSUCSC, and Moumita Ferdoushi Shorony, Cohort Management Officer of NSUCSC. They shared valuable insights on the importance of applied cybersecurity education, digital resilience, and community-based cybersecurity clinic models to support Bangladesh’s growing digital ecosystem.
The training session was hosted by Ms. Tanjila Farah, Executive Director, whose expertise and guidance contributed significantly to the success of the program. The event was coordinated by Tasfia Ahmed, Industry Liaison Assistant Officer of SEPS, with support from NSU FLEN, ensuring a well-organized and engaging learning experience for all participants.
This initiative is supported by the APAC Cybersecurity Fund of The Asia Foundation, with support from Google.org, and is part of NSUCSC’s ongoing commitment to improving cybersecurity awareness among micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across Bangladesh. Through this program, NSUCSC aims to reach at least 300 digitally vulnerable MSMEs and organizations, empowering them with the knowledge and practical skills needed to protect themselves against evolving cyber threats and build a safer digital future.
